intellectuals.

Christians speechless, as well as advice on how to be taken seriously by
an intellectual who thinks your beliefs are irrational.

Dear Michael,
Why the President's plan will prevent peace
President Bush has proposed a plan for peace between Israel and
Palestine. All the Palestinians have to do is denounce the terrorists
doing bombings in their name, and democratically elect a leader to
replace Arafat. That's it. Do that, and Israel and America will grant
them statehood. What a simple plan... and it will never happen.
I applaud our president as an American and as a Christian for putting
Palestine's "battle" for statehood in these terms. You see, Arafat has
been using American newspapers to paint Israelis and Jews as barbaric,
when in fact killing a woman and her baby on purpose (as happened last
week in one of three suicide bombings) is far more barbaric than
anything Israel has ever done. Palestinians in general consider
themselves victims of Israel's barbaric statehood, though
American newspapers won't report that truth, ironically because they
want to remain "fair and impartial". Regardless, President Bush has
effectively raised the bar. Palestinians want to be viewed as a peace
loving people who hate terrorism, and just want their land back.
America's message to Palestine is this... put your money where your
mouth is.
The President's plan provides a way to measure the Palestinian people's
supposed resolve for peace... remove their war-mongering leader (which
they'll never do), embrace democracy (which they'll never do), and
distance themselves from suicide bombers (which they'll never do).
Many Americans do not want to think of Palestinians as being
anti-Israeli and advocates of suicide bombings. The idea of a mother
expressing tearful pride (I'm not making this up) in her son for bombing
a Jewish mother and her baby is foreign to our more peaceful
sensitivities. But, that is who we're dealing with. Surely this is
obvious to the President and much of the Judao-Christian world. With the
President's new framework for peace, it might now become evident to many
other people as well.

on how the Tabernacle models Heaven. In this study, we come full circle,
concluding what we started out with... that God creates earthly things
to model Heaven, not vice versa. When John uses the temple to describe
Heaven, it's not poetic license, but by design.
